The City of Boca Raton maintains a crash database system to effectively identify safety problems at intersections in the city limits. Hard copies of crash reports are obtained from the Police Department and entered into a crash database system on a regular basis.
Data entry is done by the Accident Database Clerk. The crash database system provides tools such as development of collision diagrams and crash pattern reports that are used for engineering analysis. The system develops a high crash listing every year that is used for prioritizing roadway improvements and plays a key role in developing candidate locations for the Traffic Improvement Program.
Currently the database system has all the public roadway crashes in the City limits for years 1996 through 2008.
