Automated Collection Service Phase 4 (January 2012)

Truck picking up trash
The City of Boca Raton continues to implement an automated garbage collection program and to date has distributed containers to over 11,000 homes. The entire City will be incorporated into this new system by 2013.

When the program is implemented in your area, you will receive a container selection card in the mail. You will have a one time opportunity to choose between a 65 and 95 gallon container.  If no selection is made, the City will provide you with a 95 gallon container.  The containers can be viewed at the City’s Municipal Complex to assist with your selection. This container will replace all other garbage containers.

The City will provide each resident with curbside collection their selected container at no additional cost. If a resident desires to have an additional container, there will be an additional fee of $5.00 per month, which will be included on your water bill.

Each resident is to place their bagged garbage in the new container. On the day of collection, each resident will roll the container to the edge of the driveway or swale area no later than 7:00 a.m., placing at least 5 feet away from other containers or obstacles. The garbage truck, equipped with a mechanical arm, will lift and empty your container.

Trash CansAfter collection, each resident is to roll the container back to the garage or other storage place until the next scheduled collection day.

Containers are the property of the City of Boca Raton. Each container is numbered and assigned to a specific address. Residents are not permitted to switch containers with neighbors, or remove the container from its designated address. If you move, the container MUST stay at the current address.
